The entertainment industry is mourning the passing of a wonderful actor and a beautiful person, Lance Reddick. Reddick passed away suddenly on March 17, 2023, from natural causes. Keanu Reeves, who worked with Reddick in the John Wick franchise, along with the movie’s director Chad Stahelski, dedicated the upcoming film to Lance’s memory. Questlove, Ben Stiller, Wendell Pierce, and James Gunn are just a few among many Hollywood stars that took to social media to honor his legacy, both as an actor and as a person.
Reddick was known for his performances in The Wire, John Wick: Chapter 4, Lost, and many more. His death was an unexpected and painful loss to his fans globally. His co-stars, including Wendell Pierce and Isiah Whitlock Jr. who worked with him in The Wire, shared emotional messages to remember the actor’s legacy. Pierce dubbed Reddick a “man of great strength and grace” and the “epitome of class.”
Reddick played Charon, the hotel concierge in John Wick: Chapter 4, and the film’s director and star shared a tribute in his honor. In their joint statement, they described Reddick as a “consummate professional and a joy to work with.” They added, “Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family and friends. We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly.”
Reddick was a talented actor, and his fans and co-stars alike recognized his artistry and dedication to his craft. Gunn shared that, “Lance Reddick was an incredibly nice guy, and an incredibly talented actor. This is heartbreaking. My love goes out to all his family, friends, and collaborators.”
