DENVER – Rain has turned to snow, after a cold weather continue in Denver City, the city is most populous in United States. The temperature is dropped to 50 degrees.
The metro area, the Palmer Divide and spots of Grand and Park counties are under storm warning. it is expected that it will be 4 to 12 inches of snow and storm is probable. Summit County and some of the foothills are also under the warning expected 8 to 20 inches of snow. The snow is seen overnight across the northern mountains and foothills, and some rain is coming down as well. The storm will extend to south in the morning and should arrive in the metro area by noon Friday, according to NWS. The Denver metro area will continue to see worst impacts, especially after dark, NWS officials said.
As the storm moves through, there is a quick update to traffic warnings related to weather. Official said, we are trying to resume competitions after the weather system moves out and finish the meet on Sunday.
“in this scenario, the earliest Friday schedule would turn to Saturday’s schedule and the Saturday schedule would be Sunday’s schedule. We will continue to monitor the weather and provide updates if this changes. “ CHSAA said. “We are prepared to go into the evening on Saturday If necessary.”
CHSAA said if surfaces aren’t ready on Saturday, the meet will be pushed to Sunday and Monday.
“Any decisions regarding the status of the meet on Saturday, May 21, will be communicated as soon as possible,” CHSAA said.
Updates to Traffic and Weather. and also cancellations in Denver today
Centaurus High School and Peak to Peak Charter School have changed locations to the IST Bank Center, The schools will remain at their regular scheduled date and time. Broomfield High School and Monarch High School will move to IST Bank Center and are moving until Friday. Boulder High School their timing Sunday morning will remain at Recht Field. Lakewood High School and Jefferson High School moved their graduation indoors to their school gyms. Ralston Valley High school moved to National Western Stock Show Stadium. Adams 14 have moved their ceremony to May 22 at 10 a.m outside at DiTirro Stadium. The Chatfield and columbine ceremonies will be moved to The Denver Coliseum.
Global Dub Fest Scheduled for May 21 at Red Rocks was canceled. The Free Black Uhuru show at Levitt Pavillion has been postponed to Sept. 30. Caifanes & La Santa Cecilia is still on for Sunday.
Saturday’s High Line Canal Cleanup has been canceled and rescheduled for june 4
