From playing The Beast in X-Men to being part of one of the most iconic movies of this generation, Mad Max: Fury Road, Nicholas Hoult has inspired millions with his acting excellent performances. Among his latest roles, Hoult stars in the upcoming movie, Renfield. However, even with all his accomplishments, it’s hard not to think about missed opportunities.
In an interview with The Guardian, he talks about his near-miss roles: “I screen-tested for [‘The Batman’] and didn’t get it. Screen-tested for ‘Top Gun,’ didn’t get it. Then I got the call from Tom Cruise: ‘Hey, how about “Mission Impossible?” ‘Ok. Got it. Then I had to drop out because I was already attached to do some more of ‘The Great.'”
Despite the missed opportunities, Hoult acknowledges that there is nothing to complain about with the roles he has managed to score, including parts in the Oscar-winning movie, The Favourite, horror remake, Nosferatu, and his upcoming projects, The Menu and Taylor Sheridan’s Those Who Wish Me Dead. He is also reportedly starring in Clint Eastwood’s next film, Juror No. 2.
Hoult’s journey in the entertainment industry inspires us to learn how to live with disappointments and make the most of what life offers. Grabbing every possible opportunity and giving it your all is the key to success, and that’s exactly how Hoult has built his career.
So, the next time you face a setback or feel like giving up, take a cue from Nicholas Hoult and keep moving forward, because you never know what the future holds!
