The first month of the 2021 MLB season is in the books, and teams are starting to show their true colors. Each week, the MLB.com Power Rankings are released, and this week’s rankings saw a few notable shifts. The Angels and Guardians were the biggest losers, each dropping six spots in the rankings.

The Angels had a mixed week, with a win over the Red Sox at Fenway Park followed by a series loss to the Yankees in New York. They were able to bounce back with a series win over the Royals at home, but their inconsistency has hurt them in the rankings. The Angels are still struggling to find their rhythm, and their pitching staff has been a major area of concern.

The Guardians, on the other hand, had a rough week on the road, dropping series to both the Tigers and Marlins. They were only able to muster two wins during the week, and the lack of offense was a major issue. The Guardians have a solid pitching staff, but they need more production from their lineup to make a run in the AL Central.

While the Angels and Guardians were the biggest losers this week, there were also some winners. The Giants continued their hot start to the season, moving up to No. 4 in the rankings. The Dodgers regained the top spot after a strong week, and the Padres moved up to No. 2.

Overall, it’s still early in the season and there is plenty of time for teams to make moves in the rankings. The Angels and Guardians will look to bounce back this week, while other teams will hope to continue their hot starts. As always, the MLB Power Rankings will be a weekly source of debate and discussion among baseball fans.
