MET GALA 2022: SIGNIFICANCE, THEME , 20 BEST DRESSED CELEBRITIES.
Every year on the first Monday in May, celebrities from the worlds of fashion, music, and the arts join together to raise funds for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The gala is hosted at the Metropolitan Institution of Art in New York, with the primary goal of raising cash for the Costume Institute of the museum.
Organized by famous Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, the Met Gala is an annual event that overlaps with the opening of the museum’s latest fashion exhibit. The Met Gala this year honoured the second instalment of the current fashion exhibit, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” which will debut on May 5th, 2022.
THE THEME of the Met Gala in 2022
Each year, the Met Gala has a dress theme to coincide with the opening of the exhibit. Themes for the last several Met Galas have included “American Independence,” “Camp,” and “Heavenly Bodies,” so there’s always been plenty of scope and opportunity for celebs and guests to set the fashion world ablaze with a particularly bold look.
Despite the fact that some fashion reviewers have claimed that many of the ensembles seen in recent years haven’t actually exemplified the concept, this year’s theme of Gilded Glamour could well change the tide.

Kim Kardashian impressed in the same skin-tight, dazzling nude dress that Marilyn Monroe wore to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy at Monday’s “Gilded Glamour”-themed Met Gala – but the jaw-dropping outfit came at a cost.
The reality TV celebrity and entrepreneur had to lose weight swiftly in order to fit into the figure-hugging piece of history, which is worth millions of dollars.
Kardashian informed pal LaLa Anthony on the red carpet that she lost 16 pounds in three weeks to fit into the garment, which couldn’t be altered. And the fast-paced metamorphosis was glamorised by reports about her weight loss circulating on the internet. That message from such a well-known figure has alarmed both professionals and fans, who believe Kardashian is endorsing something harmful.
