The Pokémon Company has recently released an exciting new trailer that hints at a fresh new take on the beloved animated series. They revealed the next generation of Pokémon anime with a name, Pokémon Horizons: The Series. Even though no exact date has been announced yet, it is expected to debut later this year.
The new trailer is nothing short of amazing as it features the most adorable character of Pokémon Horizons: The Series, Captain Pikachu! Accompanied by his partner Friede, they are part of a group of travelers called the Rising Volt Tacklers, who set-sail across the Pokémon world in an airship, ready for adventure. Meanwhile, Liko and Roy, two new protagonists, will be backed up by this crew. They’ll be on a mission to explore the mysteries of the world and understand the riddles surrounding their respective pendant and Poké Ball.
Moreover, the news release shares a glimpse of the entire crew beyond Captain Pikachu and Friede, which includes Orla and her partner Pokémon Metagross, Murdock with Rockruff, Mollie with Chansey, and Ludlow. This new anime brings a fresh set of characters to the Pokémon franchise that viewers can’t wait to know more about.
But that’s not all; the trailer also hints at a group of villains known as the Explorers, featuring members like Amethio and Ceruledge, Ziro and Rhydon, and Conia and Golduck. Still, it’s unclear precisely to what lengths this group will go.
The news release doesn’t offer a specific timeline about when the Pokémon Horizons: The Series will air. However, the loyal fans can still enjoy Pokémon Journeys: The Series, which can be streamed on Netflix, while waiting for the new show to come out.
