Alisan Porter, Curly Sue star and winner of The Voice season 10, has finally tied the knot with her longtime love Justin de Vera. The couple exchanged handwritten vows in an intimate and romantic ceremony at the Venus Garden Chapel in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. They have been best friends for more than 20 years and in a relationship for six years. Porter has two children from a previous relationship, Mason, 10, and Aria, 8, and they welcomed their daughter Shilo on October 2021. Porter made sure to include her children in the wedding ceremony by entrusting them to hold the rings.

The wedding was very personal where the couple opted to not follow any traditional ceremonies. Porter walked down the aisle to Justin Nozuka’s “Warm Under the Light” and was welcomed by her new husband and their officiant Guy, a close friend and Shilo’s godfather. The wedding was attended by 75 guests, including Adam Lambert, who gifted Porter with Versace shoes.

Porter wore a Sau Lee gown on her special day, which she chose because it is “classic and simple with just enough edge”. The gown is the perfect fit for her personality, which is a mix of elegance and simplicity.

The couple first met at a dance studio when they were children, and their friendship grew over time. De Vera is a dancer who has toured with Britney Spears and Madonna. In July, they got engaged during a David Gray concert in Los Angeles where de Vera popped the question during the song “This Year’s Love”. The 1998 track is one the couple considers their song and what they played during their first dance.

In summary, Porter and de Vera’s love story is a testament to the power of friendship as a foundation for a romantic relationship. They waited for years before finally realizing that they are meant for each other. Sometimes, true love waits, and when it finally happens, it lasts forever.
